Facilty-based Respite Care

Our respite care services offer crucial relaxation time and increased social opportunities for both those in care and their carersAt HomeChoices, our respite services are all about offering the best, customised support for both the person using the service and their family.

HomeChoices understands how crucial reliable respite services are for families needing a break from caring for a loved one full time. For many families, particularly older parents, this can be the only break they get.

Just as importantly, we make sure that respite time is also a valuable opportunity for the people we support so they can broaden their friendship group, meet new people, pursue hobbies or interests, try new activities or go to community activities which they may not usually be able to do.

We offer a flexible service so that families can choose the time that fits in with their plans. For some people, this is a regular monthly stay for a few days. Other families use the time to catch up on appointments with overnight stays; and some people arrange extended respite for several weeks so they can take that long-awaited trip.

Our respite facilities are fully accessible and equipped to cater for complex physical needs. Our direct support workers specialise in providing high quality support services to people with disabilities.

HomeChoices operates four respite facilities:

Travis uses our respite facility in Pakenham. Click here to read Travis’ story.
For Bayden and Michelle, our respite facility in Bacchus Marsh meant Bayden could stay away from home for the first time. Click here to read their story.
