DirectLife
DirectLife helps people with disabilities wanting to live independently in the community to make this happen.
People may currently be living in shared accommodation or their family home. Or they may already be living alone in the community and wish to find a housemate to share with.
Our DirectLife facilitator provides a range of services including:
- Assessing the current level of living skills
- Identifying and matching potential housemates
- Supporting the search for appropriate accommodation
- Strengthening support circles with family and friends
- Developing peer support networks
Our DirectLife facilitator works with the person with a disability, their family and their disability service provider to help the person achieve their goals.
John and Alan both lived alone and both wanted to find a housemate. A referral to DirectLife was the start of a new chapter in their lives. Click here to read their story.
